Using the Structure Sensor
If at any point you are having issues scanning and something does not seem right look at our guides on how to update the firmware and how to calibrate the scanner.
Different body parts will work better at different scanning lengths. Position yourself anywhere from 35-100cm from the subject.
Structure Occipital scanner works best in diffused or softly lit areas, a direct light source like a bright cool LED or direct sunlight will effect the scanners ability to capture data.

If available in your app there will be a fixed cube option. This offers a fixed perspective in order to scan your subject. This might be helpful for users scanning soles of feet or just a preference in mode of scanning.
Make sure the desired body part is colored either red or yellow. If there is no color on it then the scanner will not try to scan
If you are not using the fixed scanning cube you can use the pinch gesture to change the size, shape and depth of the box. When your subject is within your scanning cube press the scan button.
Move around the subject capturing the desired data of the body part. You will know you are capturing the data when it begins to fill in with and overlay of a white model. If you get to close or are too quick for the scanner you will have a notification banner pop up on the screen alerting you to slow down or reposition yourself.
Follow these instructions to get back on track while scanning. If something goes wrong then you can always click the restart button and start the scan from the beginning.
Make sure that all the necessary parts of your subject have been scanned correctly because missing aspects or holes can cause issues when processing the scan.
When you have finished scanning click the done button.
When you have finished scanning check in your scan preview that there are no missing areas or that the quality of the scan is good. Depending on the type of scan you may need to orient it for the design engine that you use.
